Bye bye SFO
Week in Cupertino over and done with. Spent most of the last day with Bene talking about her team and then had over an hour long meeting with new boss Lenny. Went well but will see what org changes he makes over the next months.
After work was finished me, Frank, James, Stephen and our ex-colleague Terry went to a pub called The Duke of Edinburgh. It was a dive but they had beer and was near enough to our hotels which was all we cared about. A few Sierra Nevadas later we were all very happy and just sat around chatting. Was a very nice ending to a long week :)
Saturday morning me and James did a final Starbucks round before heading to airport. I must say that it was the longest flight EVER going back. It really felt like it was never going to end. And today I have been struggling with keeping awake for most of the day. In the morning I did all the right things - did laundry, played with the cats, cut the grass - anything to keep busy. But there's only so much and as soon as I sat down to watch some tv I fell asleep immediately - just cannot keep my eyes open. Problem is that I have loads of meetings in work tomorrow so I need to get back on the right time zone quickly. Heading down to eat something now and then I just need to be awake for a little longer before it's legitimate to go to bed.
Ciao,
A.
P.S Watched all three movies on the flight going back as I couldn't sleep.
1. Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Actually sweet and funny. I love Morgan!
2. I could never be your woman. Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. I will watch anything with Paul Rudd in it - he's soo funny! This is another weak movie but was ok for a flight. Paul was funny as always.
3. August Rush. Keri Russell, Jonathan Rhys-Myers etc. Story has potential but is not written well enough - movie is more of a weak music video than a good film. Characters really are not developed enough and some, like that of Wizard played by Robin Williams, is comedy when it should be scary. What's interesting though is that Mr Rhys-Myers sings in the movie and he's not half bad. Perhaps an alternative career for him should the modeling or acting not work out :)
